Problem Statement
UC Berkeley must build and maintain an efficient, resilient campus that helps the university adapt to a changing climate; enables the entire campus community to thrive, learn, research, and work; and supports the university’s status as a leading public institution in the world.
Objectives
- Create a concrete and actionable plan for campus to advance our goals toward greenhouse gas reduction and infrastructure resilience, and stakeholder engagement
- Actionable plan for reference, accessible, aesthetically engaging and as easy to read as possible
- Bring in a broad reach of stakeholders to contribute to the plan review within the timeframe (Dec ‘25)
Success Metrics
- Climate Action Plan is received and approved by UCOP by June 2026
- Active stakeholder engagement and adoption
- Recommendation for implementing key aspects of the plan are incorporated into other strategic plans across campus by June ‘26
