Project Overview
We recognize that completing the Post Self Evaluation Work Plan requires dedicated leadership and resources from each university unit. Therefore, we have asked each unit's leadership to designate a lead to direct their unit's completion of the Work Plan by the end of 2023. By improving accessibility across all programs, services, and activities, we will not only meet legal requirements but also create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for disabled individuals. In addition to compliance and inclusivity benefits, completing the Post Self Evaluation Work Plan will also lead to operational efficiencies and cost savings. By identifying and addressing accessibility issues, we can improve the efficiency of our programs and services, reduce the need for retrofitting and accommodation measures, and minimize the risk of legal action and associated costs.
As a result of the Self Evaluation Surveys all 40 units in UC Berkeley are tasked with improving accessibility across all programs, services, and activities. This project aims to create user friendly, and easy to navigate way to access all information for providing programs, services and activities to disabled individuals.

Problem Statement
In 2022, each unit's leadership was asked to designate a lead to direct their unit's completion of the Post Self Evaluation Work Plan. The deadline for completing the Work Plan has been set for the end of 2023. Failure to complete the Post Self Evaluation Work Plan by the deadline may result in legal consequences, as well as hinder the university's ability to provide accessible programs, services, and activities to disabled individuals.
Objectives
- Create a user friendly, and easy to navigate way to access all information for providing programs, services and activities to disabled individuals.
- Create walk through maps for achieving work plan
- Launch Coffee Chats with DAC
- Track who has completed work plan objectives aligned with VCA OKRs
Success Metrics
- Strategic Plan indicates Self Evaluation work plan is being completed
- By 06/2023, at least 6 modules completed
- By 12/2023 at least 15 modules completed
